We see a process as a sequence of activities that
adds value for customers. We help you focus on
understanding the customer’s needs, and
on designing effective and efficient processes
to deliver them, using a combination of Lean Thinking
and PISO®.
Lean Thinking – achieving Operational
Excellence
If you need to improve physical processes (like
an assembly line or a restaurant) we help you
to Value Stream those processes then apply the
right Lean Tools to achieve the desired “Future
State”.
Many of the ideas, tools and techniques that
we now call “Lean” developed from
FW Taylor and Henry Ford in the early years
of the 20th century. Whilst Ford went on to
perfect mass-production, Toyota had to take
a different approach. With very few resources
and limited markets, they had to make a success
of small-batch, flexible manufacturing. Since
then, many manufacturers have gone on to develop
their own versions of the Toyota Production
System. More recently, organisations have come
to realise that the same approach can be applied
– often with even more dramatic results
– to non-manufacturing processes.
We offer a complete range of services to help
you develop your own approach to Lean, whether
you’re new to the idea or have been “applying
the tools” for many years. Through our
partner organisation The Lean Consortium we
also offer a proven six-month Lean Consortium
programme.
PISO® (Process Improvement for Strategic
Objectives)
If you’ve ever tried to get to grips with
improving or streamlining your business process
you know what a time-consuming and depressing
exercise it can prove – miles and miles
of brown paper and sticky notes, or pages and
pages of diamonds, rectangles and arrows. Difficult
enough to map it, but how do you then get a
cross-functional team to work together to improve
things?
